Check a real invoice from the first page to the workbook

Use page boundaries as checkpoints, then judge the complete workbook. For invoice PDFs, try a multipage invoice in ParseMill and compare its line items with the source before you decide whether the workflow saves enough checking.

Inspect the interactive invoice sample, then try your own invoices. Eligible new workspaces get 10 pages for 7 days after email verification, with no card or automatic subscription.

Open page 1 and page 2 to check these expectations. The count is ground truth for this synthetic example, not a quality rate for other documents.

Look for structural errors before checking numbers

  • Missing continuation pages: a parser can return rows from page 1 while failing to recognise the table on page 2.
  • Header rows in the data: repeated column labels should not become ordinary records.
  • Split records: a row that continues onto a new page needs an explicit rule for joining it.
  • Footer contamination: page numbers and notes below a table should not become results.

The public material example uses aligned rows with repeated exact headers. The current invoice workflow also handles supported wrapped descriptions and printed English PDF scans, but a split row or unusual page layout still needs checking on your own invoice. For other report formats, establish fit before depending on an extracted register.

Choose the right cleanup workflow

Microsoft’s PDF connector documentation describes page ranges, a MultiPageTables option and cleanup approaches for multiline rows. These are Power Query features, not ParseMill settings. They illustrate why a multipage PDF may require layout-specific work.

Before accepting any tool’s output, compare per-page counts and boundary rows. A file that opens in Excel can still be missing half a table. Preserve each row’s source page so a reviewer can investigate gaps.

A repeatable acceptance note

Source pages checked: 1 and 2
Expected rows by page: 3, 2
Observed rows by page: ___, ___
First and last rows checked: ___
Repeated headers excluded: ___
Split rows / footnotes needing review: ___
Reviewer decision and date: ___

Complete this note for your document. The empty fields are a review aid, not a claim that the checks have passed.
