Accounting workflow audit for CPA and bookkeeping firms

Find out why your team is still chasing, sorting and checking after investing in software. Start with one recurring workflow, get a capacity estimate, and request a scoped review of the work that remains.

One workflow. A clear next step.

For US accounting, CPA and bookkeeping firms, especially teams of 10–50 people with recurring client work. Bring document chasing, incomplete tax packages, missing receipts, reconciliation exceptions or a shared inbox that keeps needing attention.

What a scoped review produces

How it works

  1. Use the calculator below and submit your firm context. Estimates stay labeled as estimates.
  2. We review the request and confirm fit, scope and any fee with you before starting work.
  3. For an agreed audit, we walk through one workflow and document the findings. Any implementation or pilot is agreed separately.

Submitting this form does not start a subscription, connect your systems or purchase software. The current offer is a workflow discovery and review process; automation availability depends on the agreed scope. Tax positions, accounting approvals and client communication stay under your firm’s control.

You can also use the free workflow-audit checklist on your own. The guide and calculator are open to everyone. Enter your email to access the workbook.

Start with a typical month. The document and transaction counts below are editable example values, not inferred from your firm size.

Used for firm fit; not multiplied into workload.

Clients with administrative work in this month.

Include salary, benefits and employment costs.

Monthly volumes Adjust for your firm

Files that need intake and classification.

Transactions checked for exceptions, not every ledger item.

Time & frequency assumptions Make the model yours

Separate the activities. Chasing excludes intake and transaction investigation. Status checking excludes reminders. Set minutes to zero where your existing tools already do the work.

Share of clients missing at least one document.

Across the month, not per missing document.

Preparation, sending and logging only.

Identify, classify and associate with a client/period.

Share needing additional human investigation.

Investigation only; exclude document chasing.

Time reading progress and updating status.

Reduction scenarios Hypotheses, not measured savings

Choose the share of modeled work that might be reduced after testing a workflow. These percentages are arbitrary planning assumptions. They do not describe ParseMill performance.

How this estimate is calculated

The defaults are illustrative planning assumptions, not measured industry averages. Change the time, rate and volume inputs to reflect your firm.

The default example is 35 + 40 + 42.67 + 13.33 = 131 hours/month, about $5,895 at $45/hour. The assumed 35%–55% scenarios correspond to 45.85–72.05 hours. These are gross modeling scenarios; subtract setup, monitoring and any additional review time before considering net capacity.

More clients do not automatically mean more documents or transactions; change those volumes separately. Employee count provides firm context, not a multiplier. Use a typical month and model tax season separately. If native software already handles a task, set its remaining manual time to zero.
